Students can combine unique stage combat workshops and character/ story building using their favorite action figure or super hero this Fall! Instructor Ronald Benson-El was recently a fight captain of the Netflix production Money Heist: The Experience NYC. A kind and calm instructor, Ronald will safely teach basic techniques to execute stage combat using prop swords. These basic skills include various blocks, parries, slashes, avoids, footwork etc. Students will also learn basic swordsmanship languages and terms including a breakdown of the parts of a sword and glossary terms and definitions of a variety of actions and moves. Students will also work throughout the workshop to bring their favorite characters and scenes to life using their new skills and choreography Ronald helps them develop. The goal of the class is for students to safely demonstrate their new skills while acting as their characters for parents on the last day of class. Young actors interested in beefing up their resumes and developing new skills to use in future productions will love this class!
Families cancelling their registration will receive a refund for the remaining classes less a $10 processing fee. If Alexandria Children's Theatre needs to cancel the session, full refunds for the remaining classes will be given.
