The goals of this class are to develop dance technique and learn new choreography. Teachers will focus on teaching students complicated body movements and story telling techniques. Students will work on coordination and developing stylistic nuances such as bending, graceful movement, hand gestures, and more. There will be a strong emphasis on stage presence, confidence, and other performance performance aspects of the art form.
This class is a great for those children with dance experience who are looking to begin learning more complex choreography and dance skills.
• Learning dance is a process that is different for every student, and levels are not necessarily tied to age. We want to prioritize both dance education and enjoyment for every student, and we welcome your feedback on the needs of your child. However, final discretion as to the appropriate level for your child is up to the teacher. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you! • Required attire is a t-shirt and leggings and bare feet. Please DO NOT have your child wear dresses or distracting accessories to class. • Students are expected to practice 15-20 minutes daily with occasional supervision. • Students are expected to participate at their fullest potential, follow directions and be considerate and respectful of other students and instructor. Students who continue to be disruptive or disrespect the policies will be un-enrolled from the class. There is no eating or chewing gum during class. • Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. • Attendance is important to continue the moment of the child's progress. The curriculum is designed so that students are building on their skills each week. Children that come in late miss the basic warm ups that will help them with the remainder of the class. Please notify us if your child will be absent. Regular attendance is important for students and is respectful to their classmates with whom they are working with as a group. • Students will perform their work at a recital at an end-of-term studio recital for the parents.
