Description
Kathak is a North Indian classical dance style that originated among nomadic storytellers and became codified in the Indian royal courts. The style features flowing hand movements, complicated footwork patterns, and spins. Kathak classes will focus specifically on complex footwork, rhythm-counting, and learning tukdas.
This class is perfect for those who are new to Kathak or are returning to it after many years.
Notes:
Appropriate attire is leggings, a t-shirt or comfortable kameez, and bare feet.
Students are expected to practice 10-15 minutes daily to keep up with the progress of the class.
If you are new to Indian dance, prior participation in our Classical Blend Performance Intensives and/or Drop In Classes is helpful.
Classes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
