Beg Bollywood - Level 1 & 2
The goals of this class are to develop dance technique and learn new choreography.
- Intro to Indian music and dance. Create movement (space, time, energy) using your body.
- Dance Basics: Rhythm, Making shapes with body, Spacial awareness, Travelling and direction.
- Simple hand gestures to tell a story.
- Primary expressions.
Learn a simple choreographed dance routine - that applies all above principles.
Dancers with some experience will learn more complex variations of arm, leg, hand, and foot movements. Students will work on coordination, balance, facial expressions, rhythm and partner work. They will also focus on stage presence, confidence, and the performance aspects of the art form.
The material will be customised to cater to both level 1 & 2 appropriately.

Learning dance is a process that is different for every student, and levels are not necessarily tied to age. We want to prioritize both dance education and enjoyment for every student, and we welcome your feedback on the needs of your child. However, final discretion as to the appropriate level for your child is up to the teacher. Please email us at info@ajnadance.com if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!
Required attire is a t-shirt and leggings and bare feet. Please DO NOT have your child wear dresses or distracting accessories to class.
Students are expected to practice 10-15 minutes daily with supervision.
Students are expected to participate at their fullest potential, follow directions and be considerate and respectful of other students and instructor. Students who continue to be disruptive or disrespect the policies will be un-enrolled from the class. There is no eating or chewing gum during class.
Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Attendance is important to continue the moment of the child's progress. The curriculum is designed so that students are building on their skills each week. Children that come in late miss the basic warm ups that will help them with the remainder of the class. Please notify us if your child will be absent. Regular attendance is important for students and is respectful to their classmates with whom they are working with as a group.
Students will perform their work at a studio performance for their parents.

• Students may bring water only. No other food or drink is allowed on the premises. Water breaks will be taken at the teacher's discretion. If the water breaks prove to be a distraction, the teacher reserves the right to require water to be had only before or after the class, and not in the studio.
• Ajna Dance is renting this space from DanceWave. Please be respectful of this fact and be sure to keep it clean, tidy, and quiet while on the premises. We are only able to enter the premises 10 minutes prior to the start of class and remain up to 10 minutes after class ends, or we will be charged a fee. All lights, air conditioning, etc. must be turned off prior to leaving, and the door will be locked. All bags and items of value should be left in the studio or in cubbies, not in the Dancewave lobby. Neither DANCEWAVE, INC. nor Ajna Dance Company is responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items. No food or drink besides water is allowed on the premises. • Attire for class: leggings, t-shirt, bare feet. Dresses, skirts, sweaters, shorts, tights, socks, or any distracting jewelry are not appropriate for class. • Class Policy: Ajna classes are DROP OFF classes. The teacher may allow parents to come in and watch at her/his discretion on some occasions. If you are waiting in the lobby with other children, please be respectful of the space and class, and help it to remain quiet and clean.
