Harvard's beloved blonde takes the stage by glittery pink storm in this fun and upbeat adaptation of the hit film and award-winning Broadway musical.
Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture, Legally BlondeThe Musical JR. is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. The show's instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit and sass — leaving cast members and audiences alike seeing pink!
Legally Blonde JR. follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle's boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, claiming she's not "serious" enough, Elle takes matters into her own hands, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate, Emmett, and spunky hairdresser, Paulette, along the way, Elle finds that books and looks aren't mutually exclusive. As Elle begins outsmarting her peers, she realizes that law may be her natural calling after all.
Legally Blonde JR. features large, energetic dance numbers with an expandable cast of sorority sisters, law school students, hairdressers and more.
This "Theater in the Park Production" will be held completely outdoors in the private park at the back of the Louden Nelson Center. Unlike more recent years, the park is now fenced off and gated. We will be the only group using the outdoor venue and are excited to be able to bring theater to our community after such a hard pandemic year.
Camp will look a little different this year. We’ve adjusted many of our procedures according to guidance provided by the CDC and Federal guidance. We have incorporated these new standards into our program for the benefit of our campers and staff. Some of the changes include; more hand washing, increased cleaning and sanitation by the staff, social distancing between groups, rigorous daily health checks, masks being worn by staff and campers.
All About Theatre is elated to be able to offer an in-studio summer program and a backyard theater program, in compliance with the County of Santa Cruz Health Services Agency’s health and safety guidelines in response to Covid-19. Connection, play, exploration, creating and lots of laughter is important in a child’s daily life. Having missed many of these opportunities to be creative and to gather with friends during Shelter in Place, we hope to create all these opportunities for all our campers at either the “In-Studio” or “Backyard Theater” or "Park" Camps.
