Class Experience

Auditions are a crucial part of the performance process. Proper technique and preparation can help you ace even the most difficult of auditions. Learn the ins and outs of how to make every audition your best audition. This class is geared toward students who want to perform in musical theatre, so students should expect to hone all 3 major areas: singing, dancing, and acting.

This class will help you prepare to audition with confidence! We’ll demonstrate and practice audition techniques and provide you with tips, resources and monologues. You’ll improve your cold reading skills, develop a dynamic monologue, practice delivering monologues in front of the class. Students will work on audition technique, acting through song and finding 16 and 32-bar cuts that showcase their talent and personality specifically geared toward your next advanced level audition or college audition!

Actors who are interested in auditioning for musical theatre programs will benefit from class tremendously.

Notes

We strongly encourage parents to drop their children off, but if your child needs you to stay a little, especially on the first day, then you are more than welcome to sit in. Please bring water and snacks, as well as a lunch for your performers. They will need the nourishment for their imaginations, active voices and bodies. We will take a morning and afternoon break, as well as a longer lunch break - so they will have time to refuel and hydrate.
