Class Experience

Join us for a week of singing, dancing and acting training. Culminating in a delightful weekend - where we shall perform for live audiences in the park on our outdoor stage with the main cast of the production camp HONK JR!

This delightful adaptation of the beloved fable and the award-winning musical is a heartwarming celebration of what makes us special.

Adapted for young performers, and with a score by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Mary Poppins), Honk! JR. is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score.  Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, Honk! JR. will treat your audiences to equal amounts of laughter and tears.

Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother's protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be.

Notes

This 1-Week "In-Studio" camp will be held predominantly outdoors, with some inside studio time (all doors and windows open for full ventilation & HEPA filters running).

OVERVIEW
Camp will look a little different this year. We’ve adjusted many of our procedures according to guidance provided by the CDC and Federal guidance. We have incorporated these new standards into our program for the benefit of our campers and staff. Some of the changes include; more hand washing, increased cleaning and sanitation by the staff, at home health checks by staff and campers.

POLICY
All About Theatre is elated to be able to offer an in-studio summer program and a backyard theater program, in compliance with the County of Santa Cruz Health Services Agency’s health and safety guidelines in response to Covid-19. Connection, play, exploration, creating and lots of laughter is important in a child’s daily life. Having missed many of these opportunities to be creative and to gather with friends during Shelter in Place, we hope to create all these opportunities for all our campers at either the “In-Studio” or “Backyard Theater” Camps.

Masks are mandatory.
Social Distancing is mandatory.
Please provide own food & water.
Please provide a towel or blanket to sit on.
Please provide own sunscreen, sunglasses and hats.

*** Please keep your child home if they are sick or show and potential symptoms.
*** We shall not allow any students in who present with a fever or signs of sickness.

Thank you for registering your child to participate and play with their imagination this summer, here at All About Theatre. A reminder and welcome email will be sent the week before the camp starts with notes of what to bring and pack for your child. Please mark your calendars now...

Other Things To Know

Adult Participation
Optional.

We need your help! This is a very rewarding part of the summer production experience - there are many roles the fit everyone's schedule and there's something for everyone..!

To make all of this magic come together, we do request that each family contribute approx. 20 hours of volunteer time (plus additional 5 hours per additional child in same production). These hours go swiftly and really provide an opportunity to connect with our other families and to build community whilst supporting the greater process and your child(ren) as well as all those in the production.

Cancellation Policy

We know that life is ever evolving, we ask that cancellations come in a timely fashion so as not to adversely impact other members of the production or class nor the staff. No cancellations will be accepted within 72 hours of the program.
