Join us for this 1-week of fun theatrical training as we take your young performers on a delicious journey down the chocolate river. Culminating in a weekend of live performances with the main cast of Willy Wonka Jr. on our outdoor stage.
SYNOPSIS
Roald Dahl's timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir is a golden ticket to adventure.
The delicious adventures of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory light up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl's fantastical tale. Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film, in addition to a host of fun new songs, Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR. is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone's sweet tooth.
Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR. follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory — or suffer the consequences.
This 1-Week "Backyard" camp will be held predominantly outdoors, with inside restroom access only.
OVERVIEW
Camp will look a little different this year. We’ve adjusted many of our procedures according to guidance provided by the CDC and Federal guidance. We have incorporated these new standards into our program for the benefit of our campers and staff. Some of the changes include; more hand washing, increased cleaning and sanitation by the staff, at home health checks by staff and campers.
POLICY
All About Theatre is elated to be able to offer an in-studio summer program and a backyard theater program, in compliance with the County of Santa Cruz Health Services Agency’s health and safety guidelines in response to Covid-19. Connection, play, exploration, creating and lots of laughter is important in a child’s daily life. Having missed many of these opportunities to be creative and to gather with friends during Shelter in Place, we hope to create all these opportunities for all our campers at either the “In-Studio” or “Backyard Theater” Camps.

We need your help! This is a very rewarding part of the summer production experience - there are many roles the fit everyone's schedule and there's something for everyone..!
To make all of this magic come together, we do request that each family contribute approx. 20 hours of volunteer time (plus additional 5 hours per additional child in same production). These hours go swiftly and really provide an opportunity to connect with our other families and to build community whilst supporting the greater process and your child(ren) as well as all those in the production.
Studying of lines, dances and practicing vocals for the final performances.
We know that life is ever evolving, we ask that cancellations come in a timely fashion so as not to adversely impact other members of the production or class nor the staff. No cancellations will be accepted within 72 hours of the program.
