Class Experience

Make your clay ideas come to life! This class is less structured; you decide what you would like to make. You can experience the wheel, or hand-build a creation on the table. Newbies and experienced potters are welcome. Arrive later, leave earlier, or enjoy the entire session, but you must attend the session for which you registered. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Notes

A maximum of 5 pounds of clay and clear glaze included for each session. Extra clay can be purchased as needed from the instructor. The instructor will use a clear glaze only. If you want to glaze it yourself with colored glaze, make it known to the instructor and determine when the piece will be ready for you to glaze. You may return on another Tuesday or Thursday, after it is bisque fired, and pay $10 to glaze it yourself with a colored glaze of your choice. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Class Requirements

  • Children under 14 must be accomanied by an adult. The adult does NOT have to pay and participate in the class but must supervise the child.

What you'll learn

  • This is for people of all skill levels, including complete newbies! There is an instructor on site to help you with your individual project.

Sample Class Format

  • This is an open studio. You decide what you want to make, if you want to try the wheel or handbuild, etc
  • The instructor will go around the studio helping  everyone along. You can learn to use the wheel or handbuilding skills.
  • When you finish you must let the instructor know and make sure your work has your name on it. Also let her know if you want to come back and glaze it or have the studio glaze it.
  • You will recieve a message via email from Anderson Arts via Sawyer when your work is ready to glaze and/or pick up. Look out for emails.
