Each participant in your group will make their own glass tile decorated with impressions of real flowers and other textured objects. Renowned glass artist Mary Van Cline will lead you in this all-inclusive experience pressing relief patterns into clay, creating plaster molds, and assembling your glass tile to be fired in the kiln.
This workshop is suitable for beginners, with no previous experience necessary. Participants will learn the steps of kiln-cast glass art and each will complete their own beautiful 7x7 inch tile.
Please note that closed-toe shoes and long pants are required in the studio, and that N95 dust masks may be required at times. Workshops take place in the artist’s waterfront studio 10 minutes from West Olympia in the New Kamilche area. Finished glass work may be picked up from Arbutus Folk School's downtown location after kiln firing is completed.
Cost of workshop is $99/student.
