Each participant will make their own monotype print with Arbutus Folk School instructor Paola de la Torre.
When a monotype print is designed, it makes a single unique impression similar to a painting. However, it is highly approachable for those with no experience in painting or drawing. It can be as simple as a few colorful shapes, or full of intricate details. It can be presented as an art piece, turned into a greeting card, or form part of a collage.
The process begins by spreading paint or ink on a smooth acrylic surface and adding a design to the thin layer of paint. This is then transferred to paper through pressure, using simple tools. Carefully separate the acrylic and the paper to see how your monotype turned out!
All tools & materials are provided.
