Please note that this full-day camp is split into 2 parts and will be taught by 1 instructor in the morning and another during the afternoon session.
This is a two part camp taught by beat-maker Malcolm McFadden and artist Andy Katz. Each morning session, students will be learning the ins and outs of Native Instruments Maschine MK2. Students will be using the Machine to sample songs and drums to make beats or instrumentals. Students will also learn how to sample songs from a record player. In the afternoon, student artists will be decoding and extracting meaning from their favorite music, beats, rhythm, and lyrics. In exploring various media (pen and ink, graphite, collage, digital drawing, etc.) each artist will generate a series of artworks that are directly inspired and influenced by their music investigations. Visual brainstorming and digital drawing approaches will help students navigate the creative process, and should result in rich visual experiments.
Please Note: This is a full day camp. Please remember to send your child to camp with a lunch and water bottle everyday.
You will receive an email before camps begins with additional information.
