Please note that this full-day camp is split into 2 parts and will be taught by 1 instructor in the morning and another during the afternoon session.
In this one of a kind summer camp, the first half of the day will focus on creative writing and storytelling taught by creative writing teacher & Annapolis Poet Laureate, Maggie Benshaw. Attendees will learn about different forms of short poetry and micro flash fiction (100 words or less) to engage their reader and bring their story to life. By the end of the week, attendees will have experimented with different forms of short poetry, found poetry, black out poetry, and micro flash fiction.
The second half of the day will focus on Zine/Art Journal construction! Taught by Maddie Roth, attendees will learn what a zine is, different ways to construct a zine and art techniques related to them. Writings from the morning can be used in the zine to create a collection of writings and art. By the end of the week, attendees will have experimented with collage, printmaking, photography and book binding and produce a piece that they can take home.
Please Note: This is a full day camp. Please remember to send your child to camp with a lunch and water bottle everyday.
You will receive an email before camp starts with additional information.
