Class Experience

NOTE THAT THIS WORKSHOP RUNS TWO DIFFERENT TIMES ON EACH DAY. SATURDAY, MAY 1: 1:30-3:30PM. SUNDAY, MAY 2: 9:30AM - 12PM.

This workshop is for those with some wheel throwing experience. Join this two-day workshop where Laura will teach you some of her favorite tricks for making a berry bowl and a plate for it to rest on. We fill focus on how to center and throw larger pieces of clay using our hands and tools. By using measurements we will learn to make pots that shrink to our intended size and we will learn how to take larger pots off the wheel without warping them. The second day we will trim and learn how to cleanly add holes to your berry bowl. Laura will glaze your fired pieces. If you are enrolled in an open studio you can choose to glaze your work then. All materials included.

Laura White has been working with clay for over ten years and is still amazed by how much there is to learn and explore! While in college she practiced all types of hand building, throwing, sculpture and firings. She has taught functional pottery and slab work to adults. Laura has her own line of work and sells it at farmer’s markets and craft fairs. For more about Laura, visit her website: https://www.lwpottery.com
