Learn to repair a favorite clothing item with simple, beautiful stitching. No sewing experience necessary. Bring several worn or torn clothes and learn techniques to patch and stitch over a rip or thin area, rendering it strong, beautiful and useful. This technique can be as ornamental or utilitarian as you wish it to look. I will show you examples for both and you can adapt to your aesthetic wishes. You will leave the workshop with skills to repair your clothes artfully for years to come. Women, men, and teenagers welcome.
Sue Schlabach is an artist and photographer with over 25 years of background as a Creative Director in art publishing. Her creative practices include en plein air painting, fiber art, watercolor, and mixed media design. On painting outdoors, she loves the immediacy of changing light and weather, and a finite amount of time to choose a composition and get to work. She loves to use large brushes to achieve abstraction and movement. Sue has been painting en plein air with ArtisTree for many years and exhibits regularly in the gallery.
