This class covers proper placement and proportions of the human form, function of the skeletal system, and provides a detailed look at all the muscles of the body and how they alter surface form. Students will start by learning to draw proportionally accurate male and female skeletons. The skeleton will be broken down by its parts: head and neck, torso, arms, hands and fingers, legs, and feet and toes. Muscles will then be drawn for all the body parts.
Students will grasp a better understanding of how the skin lays on the muscles. Frequent step-by-step exercises give students a chance to achieve anatomical representation in their drawings. Students will work from casted anatomy forms, life, photos, and drawings of anatomy by masters.
