Class Experience

Join Val Williams (Dilber the Cranky Banana, Songs for Young Whippersnappers, MsEd candidate, American University)
for this Preschool Literacy Skill-Building Class 1x/week!
A perfect pairing with Magnificent Math Preschool and Pre-Ballet.

This course includes preschool skill building for:
Writing, Phonemic Awareness, & Storytime Comprehension.
------
Val pulls from the tried and true “Heggerty” Phonemic Awareness system and builds upon that with fun pre-writing skills & storytime comprehension activities. No boring worksheets or endless repetition here: Val blends her experience as an early childhood and theatrical educator to make each session a space for high energy, highly engaging fun!

This class is a general fit for 3 and 4 year old's and is well suited for families looking for opportunities for their child to grow in:
Pre-Writing skills such as grip strength, fine motor manipulation, scissor skills, & excitement around writing acquisition
Phonemic Awareness: Onset & Final Consonants, Blending Phonemes, Rhyme Recognition
Storytime Listening, Comprehension, & Recall Skills

This class is a fit for children who:
are showing interest in holding, gripping, and prewriting skills (ex: Drawing lines & shapes, working with crayons, markers, or pencils, cutting & creating with child size scissors, etc)
