Kids in the Garden (6 weeks, 1x/week, 45 mins)-Kids Fly Solo
* Ages 3 to 6 years old
*In week 2 we will plant our own seeds and ask that a helper is present if you are concerned about your child handling the dirt, etc.
Step into the Garden with Val Williams (Dilber the Cranky Banana, Songs for Young Whippersnappers, MsEd candidate, American University) for this super fun weekly nature discovery! Perfect for your little budding horticulturist!
In this class, students will:
Gain understanding about the world of plants and flowers & what living things need to grow
Build knowledge about the interconnectedness of Eco-Systems and all living things
Read a weekly story (some fiction, some non-fiction) centered around the garden discovery of the week.
Cultivate gratitude for the living world and gain understanding of sustainable practices in the garden & beyond
Make additional relevant observations and discoveries through short virtual field trips to Val’s garden and beyond to observe real plant-life in action!
Practice Patience as we plant and wait for our own seeds to emerge!
