Storytime Explorers (6 weeks, 1x/week, 45 mins)
Head off into a land of exploration and enchantment with this theatrical storytime session guided by Val Williams (Dilber the Cranky Banana, Songs for Young Whippersnappers, MsEd candidate, American University).
A theater professional herself, Val’s enchanting storytelling is sure to transport your little to another world and bring stories to life through wacky voices, fun props, & more! Each week we will enjoy 2-3 robust, fictional story books together and engage in comprehension-based follow up discussion.
This class is a general fit for children ages 3-6 years old and has the following skill-building goals:
Guide children through storytime adventures and expand imaginative play and exploration
Engage in age-appropriate reading comprehension activities and discussion
Support Language acquisition and vocabulary growth
Help children to gain understanding of the main elements of storytelling: Beginning, Middle, End, and Characters.
