Join us for a virtual program designed to provide an artistic outlet for anyone needing healing. Express your feelings through art in a comfortable, calm environment. We provide a starting point for a project, but you may utilize the time as you would like. Developed under the direction of Emily Skelton, LMFT, Art Therapist, this program is intended for teens and adults. No young children, please.
For May’s Nest activity, we will be focusing on caregivers and caregiving, either those who care for us or those that we care for. As Rosalyn Carter said, “There are only four kinds of people in the world. Those who have been caregivers. Those who are currently caregivers. Those who will be caregivers and those who need a caregiver.”
We will be using collage as a base for this session, so gather your junk mail, newspapers, magazines, colored paper and glue. You may also choose to add to the collage with paint, markers or pencil.
If you aren’t sure where to start or are feeling stressed about what to do during our art making time, you can use some mandala templates for meditative coloring.
This class will be hosted on Zoom video conferencing platform. You will receive an email 30 minutes before class starts with a link to the class and access instructions. We recommend you make sure your device is up to date and meets all system requirements before class.
