Fauvism is a style of painting that emerged in the early 20th century, characterized by bold, vivid colors and simplified forms. In this 2 day workshop, participants will learn about the fauvist style and create their own fauvist-inspired artwork using acrylic and oil paints.
Students will learn about color theory, brushwork, and composition in Fauvist painting, as well as techniques for choosing a landscape to paint. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with color and form to create their own unique artworks, while also drawing inspiration from the works of famous Fauvist painters such as Henri Matisse and André Derain.
This workshop is designed for both beginners and intermediate painters who are interested in learning about the Fauvist style and developing their own painting skills. By the end of the workshop, participants will have gained a deeper understanding of the Fauvist style, as well as the techniques and skills necessary to create their own vibrant and expressive artworks.
There will be a lunch break from 12pm-1pm. You may brown bag it or go out to eat.
