Level I - This class is for students with some informal familiarity with the medium.
Master Study: "to create a copy of a masterpiece in order to study the methods and creative choices of the artist who created it." This painting workshop is designed to provide a comprehensive study of impressionist painting techniques. Through hands-on instruction and practice, students will learn about the key elements of impressionism, including color theory, brushwork, and the use of light and shadow.
In addition to studying the works of famous impressionist painters such as Monet, Degas and Van Gogh, students will have the opportunity to select their own impressionist masterpiece and create a master study of it using oil or acrylic paints. Students will learn how to build their own canvases to create a unique and personalized artwork.
This workshop is ideal for both beginners to intermediate painters who are interested in learning about impressionism and developing their own painting skills. Beginners should have some basic familiarity with acrylic or oil paint. By the end of the workshop, students will have gained a deeper understanding of the impressionist style, as well as the techniques and skills necessary to create their own unique masterpieces.

Students may choose to use acrylic or oil paints for this workshop.
