It is VERY IMPORTANT that you read our Covid-19 policies and guidelines before your child arrives for School’s Out:
Due to Covid-19, we are not currently offering before or aftercare for School’s Out days.
Our day: School’s Out Camp begins each day at 9:00 A.M and ends at 3:00 P.M. Please drop your child off no earlier than 8:45 am. Our day ends at 3:00 pm. We charge $1 per minute for late pick-up after 3:15 pm, with no exceptions.
Drop off and Pick up at the Stupp Center:
All School’s Out dates in November and December 2020 will take place at THE STUPP CENTER in Tower Grove Park and NOT at Artscope’s Cottage. The Stupp Center is inside the Grand Entrance to Tower Grove Park, near the corner of Grand Avenue and Arsenal Street.
After you turn into the park from Grand Avenue, make an immediate left. You will see the Stupp Center up ahead on your left, and the Sons of Rest picnic shelter on the right. For ease of the drop off process, it is best if you drive past the Stupp Center, turn around with a 3-point turn and pull up to the curb in front of the Stupp Center, where an Artscope staff member will meet you at your car. Please remain in your car at all times.
At pick up, we will bring your child to your car. Remember we cannot release your child to anybody not listed in your registration as a parent/guardian or emergency contact unless you have sent us written authorization in advance.
What to bring: Children should wear clothes that can get messy and wet as well as supportive shoes. We spend a lot of time outside, even if it is chilly, so please dress your child appropriately for the weather with coats, gloves and hats. Please label all items such as lunch boxes, backpacks, and coats with the child’s name.
What NOT to bring: Artscope is all about going unplugged. Electronic devices are not allowed at School’s Out.
Lunch: Lunch is not provided; pack a sack lunch and snacks with as little disposable waste as possible. A morning snack is a good idea. A reusable water bottle is advised. There is no refrigeration available, so make sure your camper’s lunch doesn’t need it!
ARTSCOPE IS TREE NUT AND PEANUT FREE. Please do not send foodstuffs with peanuts or tree nuts such as peanut butter, almonds, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, pine nuts, etc., with your camper. Many students as well as some of our staff have allergies that result in reactions simply from being touched by others who have handled nut/peanut products. Seed products such as sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, tahini, sunflower seed butter, etc. are fine.
Medications: All medications (RX or over-the-counter) must be checked in / out either daily with staff. Please do not send medications with your child in their lunchbox/backpack.
Medications should be in a Ziploc bag clearly marked with your camper's name with instructions. Please complete the Medication Authorization form available from us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Health information/regular medications should also be listed on your camp registration form. If you need to update your form, please let the staff know.
Visitors: Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, visitors are not allowed at Artscope or in the Stupp Center while a program is happening. The Stupp Center will remain closed to the public while we are in the building, and it will be locked from the outside. Anyone picking up a camper not recognized by camp staff as an authorized parent/guardian will be required to show ID. Please advise us of any child custody arrangements/restraining orders and who may pick up and/or visit your camper(s).
