In this class we will design, plan and build a one-of-a-kind ceramic lamp. Makers of all skill levels are welcome. If you've always wanted to make a lamp, but are a little intimidated by wiring it, this class is for you! Your lamp can be a table lamp, a sconce, a hanging lamp, an illuminated sculpture, the possibilities are endless! We'll mainly focus on hand built pottery techniques.
You're welcome to make other small pieces during class for practice or planning, but the goal will be making at least one awesome lamp. Experienced throwers are welcome to make wheel thrown lamps as well, and get help planning and wiring. Necessary wiring parts will vary based on your lamp design (are not included) and could cost $10-25 depending on the design.

WEDNESDAY nights 7:00-9:30PM

$480 Includes two makeup classes, studio clay, glazes and slips, plus unlimited studio time during our open hours. $25 extra for firing fee (this covers up to 10 items. After 10 items you pay regular firing fees). If you'd like to work with a specific type of clay, 3 different clay bodies are available for purchase in the studio. Option to pay in two installments at checkout. Student discounts available, contact Artshack for more info. Continuing students get 10% off adult multiple week sessions: continuing student discount applies only to students taking contiguous classes. We are a non profit. A portion of your tuition goes towards scholarships for neighborhood kids to take our classes for free.

CANCELLATION POLICY: You must pay in full to reserve your spot in a class. To receive a refund or transfer, requests must be received one week prior to the first day of class. After that time, no refunds or transfers will be issued. Makeup classes are allowed within 2 weeks of your missed classes. If you join a class once it's already in session, we do not offer refunds. If you need to drop out a class once it has begun due to personal injury we cannot issue a refund. However, if we receive an official doctor's note, we can try to move you into the following session pending availability. For family emergencies, sick pets, moving, and all other issues, we do not offer refunds. Please note if you are paying in installments: we offer the option to pay in installments as a courtesy to the customer. The second installment of your payment is not negotiable for any reason.
