Learn wheel throwing and hand building basics, including trimming, and some intermediate wheel practices. Learn surface design techniques from Demetria Chappo, an experienced artist known for her carvings and intricate surfaces. Learn how to glaze, use underglazes, stains, carve and inlay.

8 week session

Price includes two makeup classes, studio clay, glazes and slips, plus unlimited studio time during our open hours. $25 extra for firing fee (this covers up to 10 items. After 10 items you pay regular firing fees). If you'd like to work with a specific type of clay, 3 different clay bodies are available for purchase in the studio. Option to pay in two installments at checkout. Student discounts available, contact Artshack for more info. Continuing students get 10% off adult multiple week sessions: continuing student discount applies only to students taking contiguous classes. We are a non profit. A portion of your tuition goes towards scholarships for neighborhood kids to take our classes for free.

PLEASE NOTE: You must pay in full to reserve your spot in class. You are only eligible for 2 makeup classes if you pay full price. If you join after the first session, you can take 1 makeup class, and if you join more than halfway through, you cannot take any makeup classes.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
You must pay in full to reserve your spot in a class.
To receive a refund, requests must be received one week prior to the first day of class.
After that time, no refunds or exchanges will be issued. Makeup classes are allowed within 2 weeks of your missed classes.
If you join a class once it's already in session, we do not offer refunds.
If you need to drop out a class once it has begun due to personal injury we cannot issue a refund or an exchange.
However, if we receive an official doctor's note, we can try to move you into the following session pending availability.
For family emergencies, sick pets, moving, and all other issues, we do not offer refunds or exchanges.
Please note if you are paying in installments: we offer the option to pay in installments as a courtesy to the customer.
The second installment of your payment is not negotiable for any reason.
