Bluegrass Music is a music class that introduces kids to singing, clapping and playing instruments such as drums and tambourines, washboards, kazoos, and ukuleles. Children and their grown-ups sing along with live music played by musical educators who will introduce typical Bluegrass instruments such as guitar, ukulele, piano, and even the spoons. Kids enter a musical journey while experiencing sounds and language from a different musical artist each week such as Dolly Parton, Woody Guthrie, Johnny Cash to name a few. Children will also be able to make their own banjo to take home.
This class will take place outdoors on Fridays at West Village starting June 7-August 20. This class will also take place outdoors on Wednesdays at Washington Square Park and Thursdays at Battery Park from May 10th-August 20th.
