Get your Cosplay ready for this year's Denver Pop Culture Con!
Join Pirates of Penzance costumer Amber Tyler and her son Jack Tyler as they guide you through creating your own Cosplay! All experience levels welcome!
Bring some thrift store finds and an idea! Together we can turn them, and you, into the character you have always wanted to cosplay.
Day 1: Share our thrift finds, draw a costume croque and look through materials to plan.
Day 2: seam-ripping, hand-sewing, fitting on partner, finalizing drafting plan.
Day 3 & 4 sewing.
Day 5: finishing touches, posing in character, photo shoot and selfie party.
Class meets Mon-Fri from 9:00am - 12:00pm at BackStory Theatre (555 Burbank St, Unit Q).
Students should wear clothes they can move freely in and closed-toed shoes. Flip-flops and other slip-on shoes present tripping hazards in class.
Please bring a water bottle, pencil, and highlighter to every class.
COVID-19 has presented our community with unexpected challenges and opportunities. BackStory Theatre is committed to rising to those challenges and creating space both online and in-studio for creativity, confidence-building, and joy!

Students will need to provide a thrifted or repourposed piece of clothing to use as a base for their project. Hopefully, students may want to keep working on drawing and hand stitching at home. But it won’t be required.
Cancellations cannot be refunded within 48 hours (or after) class start. A 6% cancellation fee applies to any requests made more than 48 hours in advance or a 100% class credit may be issued.
