“Authenticity” is the key word to describe Ben Vereen’s master class… to be, as opposed to become the character…When Ben teaches you, he is bringing in not only his amazing talent as an actor and entertainer, but also his knowledge of taking the content and turning it into another dimension of interpretation. Within a 2 hour time frame, Ben will work with students on either a song or a monologue of their choice, break it down and bring it back with an individual sense of style, self and new found confidence. In addition, his Q & A involves not only the participants but the audience who is in the room with Ben. But remember, what happens in the room, stays in the room – to protect the students and to help them grow into the talented artists they are meant to be. Prior experience in the performing arts is required. Participants should prepare a monologue of no longer than 90 seconds, or 16 bars of song with an accompaniment track.
