Winter Break Workshop: Strategies for Revising and Editing 6th - 8th Grade

12 - 14 yrs

Description

Revising and editing are showing up everywhere: the NYS ELA exam, the SHSAT and in “real life” writing. But how do we approach these skills when our advanced devices are not available to us?

This course will address specific skills and strategies your child can use to effectively revise and edit written work, both in testing situations and in their school-based writing assignments. We’ll analyze the roles grammar, word choice, sentence structure and organization each play in creating a coherent, interesting piece of writing. While students will certainly be “schooled”, this class won’t be boring! It’s more like a super fun boot camp...with proper punctuation.
