A small, child-led learning community for curious kids. Our school-year microschool combines hands-on projects, open-ended art, outdoor exploration, and collaborative play within a literacy-rich and numeracy-rich environment. Campers also explore science, social studies, citizenship, art, PE, and health — all in ways that honor their curiosity and individual pace.

We prioritize process over product, curiosity over compliance, and social-emotional growth alongside academic learning. Designed for families seeking an alternative to traditional school, Blazing Star supports children in developing confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Blazing Star is a child-led learning community offering a mix of school-year programs, enrichment experiences, and seasonal camps.

Our programs are rooted in play, creativity, and deep respect for children as capable, curious learners. Whether children join us for a summer camp, a short-term program, or ongoing learning experiences, they are invited to explore at their own pace through hands-on projects, open-ended art, collaborative play, and time outdoors.

We prioritize process over product, intrinsic motivation over compliance, and social-emotional growth alongside academic learning. Educators at Blazing Star act as guides and collaborators, creating environments where children feel safe to experiment, take risks, and follow their curiosity.

Blazing Star serves families seeking an alternative to traditional, highly structured programs — a place where learning feels joyful, meaningful, and deeply human. Current offerings include our micro-school, homeschool enrichment, and summer camps and day-off camps.
