

Host your next gathering in a unique, art-filled setting at the Brookings Arts Council! Our flexible gallery and classroom spaces are available for meetings, graduation parties, and more, with affordable hourly rates and optional add-ons to fit your needs.
Before submitting an inquiry: Rentals are subject to BAC policies, including respect for artwork, staffing requirements, cleanup expectations, and scheduling based on existing programming. Full policies, rental details, and a formal agreement will be emailed to you and must be completed, signed, and approved to confirm your reservation.
One or both spaces may be unavailable on your ideal dates and/or times; thank you for being flexible with our gallery and art making spaces!

*Availability & Scheduling*
Rental availability is subject to the Brookings Arts Council’s class and exhibition schedules. BAC will make every effort to accommodate rental requests that do not conflict with planned programming. Reservation is not confirmed until this agreement is signed and payment is received.
*Staffing*
A BAC staff member is required to be present during all rentals. They may assist with general setup and cleanup, but renters are expected to handle their own event teardown and leave the space as they
found it.
*Facility Use & Amenities*
Renter is responsible for providing all food, beverages, serving ware, napkins, and AV equipment required. A limited amount of refrigerator space is typically available. Extension cords may be provided by BAC upon request. Use of BAC’s rolling chairs, tables, and tablecloths is not guaranteed and must be arranged in advance as an optional add-on. All personal and event items must be removed at the end of the rental period unless otherwise arranged.
The Brookings Arts Council building includes two restrooms on the lower level. One is ADA accessible and includes a diaper changing station. An ADA-compliant lift is located on the east side of the building and may be used for accessibility or for bringing in supplies and equipment. The refrigerator and freezer that are located in our small kitchen may be utilized, please ask ahead of time so we can accommodate your needs.
*Respect for the Art*
The Brookings Arts Council is first and foremost an art gallery and community art center. Renters and their guests are expected to respect the artwork on display. The following is strictly prohibited: touching or leaning on artwork; moving any sculpture, pedestals, or gallery walls unless pre-approved by BAC staff; attaching décor to any artwork or walls without express permission.
If damage is caused to any artwork while the event or set up is taking place, the Renter will be responsible for reimbursing the Brookings Arts Council in an amount sufficient to pay the artist for the damage or loss. The Renter will also be held liable for any damage to display furniture or the facility caused by event attendees, vendors, or their activities.
Alcohol Policy
The BAC does not permit the sale of alcohol on premises. Complimentary alcohol (e.g., wine or cocktails provided free to guests) is allowed and does not require prior approval. The Renter assumes all liability for alcohol service and consumption.
Cleanup and Damages
The space must be returned to its original condition. All trash must be disposed of properly, and any BAC-owned furniture or equipment used must be returned to its original location. Recycling and garbage bins are available for the Renter to utilize.

Damage to BAC property will be assessed and billed accordingly.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made more than 2 days before the event will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 2 days of the event may not be eligible for a refund at the BAC’s discretion.
