Class Experience

Have you ever wanted to write a song but don't know how to start? Are you tired of playing cover songs and want to create your own? In this class you will work together with your classmates and instructor David Pollack to write songs together and also gather feedback about your own songs! You will study the song structure of your favorite songs and other classic songs. You will develop, and hone your skills in a songwriting community environment. Bringing your own instrument such as a guitar, ukulele or keyboard is preferred, but not a requirement!

Meet your Instructor

David P.

I bring 20 years experience as a musician and singer/songwriter! On top of that 10 years working with kids of all ages! I grew up in New York City and moved to Portland in 2017. I worked for four years as a Paraeducator Special Education Support Worker at Roosevelt High School and therefore, am glad to be back in the St Johns Community!
