Introduction to Photography

Spring Photography Classes

Ages 13 - 18+ yrs

Description

Under the direction of a professional photographer, this class provides an introduction to the camera with an emphasis on understanding the photographic triangle, the relationship between aperture/f-stop, shutter speed, and ISO settings. Over the course of four Saturdays, students will practice street photography, portraiture, and a commercial photography experience in an on-site location shoot. The fifth Saturday will be devoted to an orientation to Lightroom as well as image management. The students will come away with a working knowledge of the photographic triangle in a variety of shooting environments and lighting situations.
>Session runs for 5 weeks, 2 hours each week
>Equipment is provided by CVA
>All students will receive a user-named license for Adobe Creative Cloud (expiration May 31, 2019)

Notes:

Students will meet on the 4th floor of the Cultural Arts Center at 200 N. Davie St, Greensboro, NC. Students should come prepared to go outside, as some of the classes will take place outside for at least a portion of the time.
