Give your child a full day of Halloween art while school is out.

Friday, October 23, 8:15am to 3:45pm.

In the morning, kids make their own clay sugar skull. They cut the skull out of a clay slab using a pattern, then decorate it with flowers, hearts, dots and carved details. They finish by glazing it in bold colors, so no two skulls look alike. Each skull has a hole for hanging, so it can go on a wall or a door.

After lunch, kids paint a spooky night sky in acrylics. They blend deep blues and purples for the sky, add a glowing moon and stars, and paint dark silhouettes against it, such as a bare tree, a haunted house and bats. Acrylics dry fast and layer well, so kids can build up the sky and then add crisp details on top.

Your child will create two finished projects, aquire new clay and painting skills, and enjoy a full day with a small group of kids who like making things. No experience needed.

Please pack a lunch and a snack. Kids eat at the studio with our teacher, and we can’t heat food, so a cold lunch works best. Let us know about any food allergies.
We provide all art supplies. Kids should wear clothes that can get messy.
Painting goes home the same day. Clay is picked up about two weeks after camp.

Children’s Art Classes of Raleigh is a children’s art studio where kids ages 3 to 18 build real skills and real confidence through drawing, painting, and clay. Our weekly, curriculum-based classes run September through May and are organized by age and level, so every child learns at the right pace and sees their progress from week to week. Parents tell us they love watching their kids go from “I can’t draw” to proudly bringing home finished work.

Along with weekly classes, we offer homeschool classes, summer camps, track-out camps, and birthday parties. We are an ESA+ approved provider. Your child’s first trial class is free, and you can enroll for the semester on the spot if it’s a great fit.

Visit us at 6119 Capital Blvd., #11, Raleigh, NC, or book a trial class today.
