Class Experience

Come to our little red schoolhouse and aboard our green school bus as we take trips to local creeks, ponds, pools, gardens, forest trails and exploring different parks. Jump on a Strider bike, or learn to ride one, as we discover the bike trails that go from our school through local neighborhoods and along creeks.

Our farm tubs at the school and our community garden plot give children the opportunity to plant, water, weed, and harvest food grown from seed. Local farmers provide fresh produce to us on a weekly basis for children to wash, prepare, and cook delicious snacks. Children will get to visit various local farms to meet the farmers and their animals. Adventure awaits!

Notes

Healthy snacks will be provided. Children should arrive with a lunch, water bottle and appropriate clothing for water and biking activities. Please check out current COVID-19 procedures at childrenshousepreschool.org

100% refund on cancellations 4 weeks or more before 1st registered day of camp
50% refund on cancellations 2-4 weeks before 1st registered day of camp
No refund for cancellations made less than 2 weeks before 1st day

What To Bring

Labeled water bottle
Sunhat, sunscreen and appropriate clothing
Water shoes and shoes for general activities
A change of clothes - we aim to get dirty and wet
Swim clothes and a towel and floaties if worn

Meet your Instructors

Michael K.

Michael has been with Children's House since 2005. Michael cooked professionally for 17 years prior to changing to Early Childhood and has bought his love of the outdoors, gardening and cooking to the children. Michael leads the garden activities planting, growing and harvesting with the children. As part of the Farm to ECE program we receive weekly deliveries from local farms which he prepares with the children into delicious snacks.

I began at the Children's House Preschool as the Assistant Director in 1992, and became the Teaching Director in 1994. My educational background is a Bachelor's of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State College, Salem Massachusetts. I completed my degree in England where I taught kindergarten and studied the British Infant Methodology system. I have completed my course work for a Master's Degree in Multicultural Education at the University of Colorado. Teaching is an honor
