Class Experience
Teens will tackle this new musical and develop their singing and dancing skills with rehearsal prep, auditions, and an intensive rehearsal process before presenting Chaplin: The Musical to the public!
Actors ages 13-18 will register, work with staff to prepare an audition, receive their role(s), rehearse, then perform Chaplin: The Musical as a fully-mounted production.
Notes
Rehearsals begin June 7, 2021 and are 1:00-5:00 pm Monday-Friday. Please contact the CTW office if you would like help arranging for a carpool.
Class Requirements
- Some experience in musical theatre expected; this is an intensive musical theatre program
- Actors will need to come to the first day of the program with a 16-32 measure audition song prepared (about 30 seconds)
What you'll learn
- Actors will learn intermediate choreography including tap
- Actors will learn/practice reading sheet music
- Actors will learn/practice singing solos, small group songs, and large group songs
Sample Class Format
- First day: Actors and staff will establish a cast culture. They will audition and the staff will cast everyone in the group in their role(s). Everyone enrolled will receive a role.
- No more than 30 actors will be in the program, to ensure everyone receives adequate stage time and instruction.
- Rehearsals are Mon-Fri from 1:00-5:00 pm. Actors should plan to attend all rehearsals. Rehearsals will include practicing acting, singing in groups and solos, and choreography. Contact CTW if you would like help arranging a carpool.
- Performances are July 14-15, 2023 at 7:00 pm and July 16th at 2:00 pm. The show is about 2 1/2 hrs long with a 15 minute intermission. Performances are open to the public.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made prior to the start date are fully refundable. There are no refunds after the program starts. If after the first class your student finds the program not a good fit, please contact us for options: office@ctwtoledo.org
What To Bring
- CTW provides, as part of tuition: script, costume (unless it can be brought from home), makeup, etc. The script is a rental and MUST be returned by opening night, July 14th.
- Snacks are provided, but actors are welcome to bring their own food.
- Please bring to rehearsal: water bottle, pencil, and the script CTW provides.
- All actors should wear closed-toed shoes to reduce tripping or losing footwear, while dancing.
