Class Experience
Students will study the entire rehearsal process, from pre-production to post-mortem, and practice the techniques directors and stage managers use.
Class Requirements
- Students should have some experience in technical theatre and/or acting.
Sample Class Format
- Pre-production: what does a director do to prepare? What does an SM do?
- Casting
- Production meetings
- Rehearsals: blocking, character work with actors, tech needs, lines. Students will stand in as actors for each other in this section.
- Tech week
- Performances
- Post-mortem (after the show closes)

What To Bring
- CTW will provide a short script that students will use to practice stage management and directing.
