Join us on Saturday, June 29th from 9-11 to meet 12-year-old Laura from Guatemala! Learn about her life and her family of artisans. See the beautiful pillows they make and learn about the traditional outfits from her pueblo.
Each child will also have the opportunity to create their own special picture frame using remnants from vintage huipils, the traditional blouse worn by indigenous women in Guatemala. We will also enjoy a traditional Guatemalan snack and practice our Spanish and Kaqchikel, the indigenous Mayan language spoken around Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.
Please bring a photo that is special to you! 5”x7” is preferable, with a couple of copies so we can create the perfect composition.
• Parent participation optional but we would love to have you! We are a socks-only studio.
