Our stop-motion animation Master Class is for kids that want to take their stop motion films to the next level, and learn professional techniques. In this two week camp, we work with green screens, light boxes, and wide array of props – even repurposed and discarded items take on a new life in this exciting and imaginative camp. Campers will build virtual worlds and tell stories using a wide array of materials and create several animated shorts. Think Toy Story, or Star Wars. The first week focuses on 2D animation and using a mixture of green screens and built/drawn backgrounds. Children will learn how to animate using a multi-plane set-up and lights to create truly beautiful, cinematic scenes. Week 2 will move on to 3D animation, creating complex props and characters from clay, armature, fabrics and more. Children will utilize both object and puppet animation techniques, and combine moving stock videos via green screen with their stop motions. Campers will also build large scale sets. Kids will utilize Dragon Frame, a professional stop-motion software, to create the projects.
