Class Experience

FOUNDATION CLASS Level: Adult Beginner - If you are a newbie to clay, this one’s for you! This class is for students to build with clay for the first time. Emphasis will be placed on the material of clay with a focus on hand building techniques; pinch, coil and slabs. Students will then be introduced to the wheel. Each student will gain the fundamental knowledge of both hand building and basic wheel throwing skills. Once students feel they have a good sense of each technique, students can focus their time on either hand building or wheel, or both. Various glaze and decoration techniques for finishing work will be introduced in this class.  While this is geared towards beginners, it is open to anyone looking to brush up on these foundational skills or have access to both hand building and wheel in the same class.
