Anticlastic Raising Workshop with Michael Good

Adult

Description

Each workshop is designed to accommodate up to 12 students. The studio time will be divided between lectures, demonstrations, and practice periods.

This intensive course will cover all aspects of Anticlastic Raising. Michael will lead students through a series of exercises that are designed to teach students the principles of the technique. Students will have a short time to practice each stage in order to digest the concepts presented before moving on to the next exercise. Students will design a piece of their own to work on throughout the class. The goal is for students to gain enough of a foundation in the session to be able to return to their own surroundings to practice at their leisure.

The classes are appropriate for all skill levels. It is not necessary to have any metalsmithing experience to enjoy the workshop, yet even master goldsmiths will find this workshop challenging, especially if they have not studied the technique previously. Those who have studied the technique before will definitely find this to be a unique experience and will be able to increase their skill and knowledge of the technique.
