Join Michael as he explores the vastness of the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. Michael will escort students through multiple shows such as the Kino Gem and Mineral Show, the Pueblo Gem and Mineral Show, and GJX. Meet with some of Michael’s favorite vendors as well as finding new favorites to return to for years to come. Michael will show students what to look for when buying rough material with opportunities to buy collectively as a group to get material at bulk prices. We will be traveling to and the shows and jewelry studio fully equipped with lapidary equipment for students to experiment with materials purchased at the show. During the course of the week Michael will also be showing students how to cut, carve, drill, polish, and design with the new materials as well as repurposing materials, such as beads, to be used in new and inventive ways.
