How does art therapy help children?
Art therapy is an effective practice in helping children deal with challenging emotions and express their thoughts and feelings. Art therapy allows children to process thoughts, emotions and experiences, and helps reduce stress and anxiety as they work through these challenges under the guidance of a licensed art therapist.
Benefits:
This Children’s Art Therapy Group will introduce your child to the basic concepts of art therapy with a different project and art material each week. Each session will include a brief check-in with group members, ample time for a hands-on art project and an opportunity to process the artwork with the group.
All materials are provided, and no artistic skills or experience is necessary.
“Art therapy is a mental health profession that uses the creative process of art-making as a way to enhance clients’ physical, mental, and social well-being.”
