Have you ever wanted to make a real movie? In this 4-week* immersive camp, filmmaker and writer, Shane Wallick will guide you through the process from beginning to end in this month-long day camp for gifted and talented kids ages 8-14.  

*Note that Screenwriting, Production, and Film Editing Camp are each offered as standalone camps as well. Post Production Camp can be taken in conjunction with Screenwriting and/or Filming & Production 

Week 1: Screenwriting Week

Collaborate with your team and create a story to tell.  Learn the fundamentals of screenwriting structure and style. Use screenwriting software to write scenes individually and with your team for a screenplay that will be produced and premiered at Cyprus School of Music and the Arts at the end of the session.

Week 2: Filming & Production Week

This will be an action-packed week of casting, shooting scenes at various locations, and learning about lighting, sound, filming, and using a drone.

Week 3: Film Editing Bootcamp

We will guide you step-by-step through learning the editing process. You will work alone and in teams to create short audio and video projects helping you to become familiar with editing software.  Be prepared to share and view some fun(ny) and creative short videos that participants create!

Week 4: Post Production & Premiere Week

After editing camp, you will be ready to tackle editing for the final cut of the movie. The team will work individually and in teams to add the finishing touches.  On the final day of camp, the movie will be premiered at Cyprus School of Music and the Arts for a captive audience of parents and invitees.

Optional Extended Day from 8:00-5:00

If you choose the Extended Day Option, You may arrive at 8:00 a.m. and pick-up at 5:00 p.m.
