Class Experience

This intermediate level class is ideal for students who have taken at least 2 years of ballet classes. Students will continue to refine their alignment, placement, turn out, balance and coordination, while further developing their knowledge of basic body directions, musicality, and technical sequences. Note that this is an open Dancewave Company Program class, all are welcome to join.

Notes

This class is being planned as an in-person experience with limited capacity. This is subject to change based on CDC guidelines.

Following New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Emergency Executive Order, Dancewave will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination and valid identification upon entering the facility for all staff, interns, volunteers, and patrons ages 5 and older. Virtual participation is available for those interested, regardless of vaccination status.

Class Requirements

  • As of December 14, 2021 children aged 5+ entering a covered entity will be required to display proof of COVID-19 vaccination and identification bearing the same identifying information as the proof of vaccination.
  • As of December 27, 2021 New Yorkers aged 12 and older will be required to show proof of two vaccine doses, instead of one, except for those who have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Meet your Instructor

Martha C.

Martha Chapman is a dance educator, dancer, choreographer, and director in the NY area. She co-directs and dances with Omega Dance Company, where she has set works for the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, and multiple New York venues. As a dance educator for over 2 decades, she is currently on faculty at Dancewave Inc., Steps on Broadway and Peridance Center. She has served on non-profit Boards and directs dance ministries with her home congregation, The Church of the Village.
