Class Experience

Art Escape Camp is a FAI tradition where kids enjoy a week filled with creative workshops in the visual arts. Students will rotate through 4 workshops each day where they will draw, paint; create with clay, mixed media and more. The FAI faculty, composed of professionals certified in their areas of expertise, creates an environment which makes learning fun and enhances self-esteem. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt.       Please bring a sack lunch each day.

Ages: 6 - 11


Please drop off and pick up students at the front entrance.  Waiting in the gallery is discouraged.



  • Pull up to the front doors and remain in your car. The FAI staff will be in front of the building for camp check in and out.

  • Drop off begins at 9:15 - please allow a few extra minutes (especially the first day).

9:30 -11:30 - Campers will enjoy 2 art projects
11:30 -12:00 –

12:00-2:00Campers will complete 2 new art projects

*Students  will have the opportunity to complete all the projects throughout the course of the week as they rotate between the teachers during the week.

2:00 Pick Up*: Campers will remain in the classroom until their pick-up vehicle arrives.
-Remain in your vehicle while waiting

*If you need to check out a child early, please call the office first, 340-4481. We will bring them to your car when you arrive.

Meet your Instructors

Fatima S.

Fatima has been in art education for four years. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2018. Shortly after she began teaching at Del City Middle School as the visual arts teacher and FAI as a ceramics instructor. She currently teaches kids, teen ceramics, and seasonal camps at FAI. She loves how FAI is such a great community for all artists.

Sarah M.

Sarah grew up in a family where exploring the arts was valued and encouraged. As a retired public school teacher, Sarah is excited to share her love of art with your children as an instructor at FAI.

Emily O.

Emily Odom is an artist and educator living in Yukon, Oklahoma. She teaches art at Mustang High School as well as classes and camps at The Edmond Fine Arts Institute. Emily has her Bachelor of Art in Education from the University of Central Oklahoma and is currently working towards her Masters in Studio art (primarily painting and drawing) at the Florence Academy where she'll spend extensive time studying abroad in Florence, Italy.

Cheryl S.

Cheryl Spain is a teacher with the Art in Schools Program. She is a long time educator of young children and never grows tired of helping students discover a love of art and fostering their personal creativity. She understands the important benefits that art education provides in a child's personal development, and the confidence it can bring. Cheryl enjoys watching her student's confidence grow each week as she shares her passion for creativity.
