This Sensational Saturdays workshop for beginners covers basic mark-making in pen and ink: hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, and contour lines, as well as controlling value and shading using these marks. There will be approx. 1 hour of discussion and exercises, followed by 1 hour of drawing winter leaves and berries from direct observation, with individual instructor input. The end of class will contain a short critique where we look at everyone's work.

Materials: Several Micron pens of different thicknesses, drawing pad, pencil for sketching. Bring your own or use studio supply.
