This class covers Menschen: Deutsch als Fremdsprache – B1.1.
Questions and explanations will mainly be answered in German so a good knowledge of the German language is a prerequisite to take this class.
Students will understand the main points when clear, standard language is used and the focus is on familiar topics associated with work, school, leisure time, etc. Students will deal with most situations typically encountered when traveling in the language region. Students will be able to express themselves simpy and coherently regarding familiar topics and areas of personal interest. They will be able to report on experiences and events, describe dreams, hopes and goals as well as make short statements to justify or explain their own views and plans.
Following the completion of German B1.1 & German B1.2, students should be prepared to take the B1 Goethe Institute proficiency exam, if they desire.
Students will have independent use of the German Language.
Prerequisite are the German A2.3 courses or equivalent.
