DESCRIPTION

In order to make conversation, students need to have basic vocabulary and grammar skills (e.g., forming sentences in the present and conversational past tense). This class provides an opportunity for students who have already taken German 1a (or the equivalent) to practice speaking German conversationally.

No new grammar topics will be introduced (other than the ones that have already been covered in German 1a). Instead, students will have the opportunity to review and practice what they have already been introduced to in order for them to feel more comfortable conversing spontaneously in German.

Through the use of a variety of tools such as video, audio, shorts texts, and group conversations, the class will stay interesting and students will not only learn the German language but get a glimpse into the German culture.

German 1a or equivalent.
