The Groundwork Music Project is delighted to offer a ukulele program for learning, recording and performance this summer. Students of all skill levels will be invited to learn songs on ukulele and actively participate in creating arrangements for a final performance at the end of June.

Ukulele is a surprisingly versatile instrument that can be used to create arrangements of everything from pop songs to big band arrangements to classical pieces. We will also have a variety of ukuleles on hand, including u-Bass and baritone ukuleles for those who wish to think beyond the instrument’s more conventional range.

Students will learn to play and to arrange songs, using software for notating music. Our studio is set up for recording, as well classroom activity, and we will provide opportunities for students to develop their studio skills as well as their instrument skills.

We will provide 9 classes out of Groundwork’s studio in (directly south of Mueller development) on the following days.

Costs (or scholarships) will include up to two make up days, with flexibility on time and location.

Provided your child is committed to participate, we welcome your feedback and inquiries about alternative schedules for classes (both times and locations). Groundwork Music Project has teachers in South Austin and we can make house calls.
